Clinical Physical Therapy & Pain Management

Leave your pain behind and regain your freedom of movement and quality of life.

Clinical Physical Therapy and Pain Management is an evidence-based method used in the treatment of diseases affecting the muscle, skeleton, and nervous system, where heat, cold, electrical currents, sound waves, and special exercises are used within a medical discipline. It aims not only to temporarily soothe the mechanical disorders in your body but to provide permanent healing by eliminating the source of the pain. At Wellness Studio in Pendik, Istanbul, we offer treatment away from standard hospital crowds, in a VIP and boutique clinic concept, in rooms reserved exclusively for you.

Our patients coming from Kadıköy, Maltepe, Kartal, Ümraniye, and surrounding districts mostly with chronic pain complaints such as lumbar/cervical herniation, fibromyalgia, or osteoarthritis are not just hooked up to electrotherapy devices and left alone. The biggest difference of our center is that device treatments (TENS, Ultrasound, etc.) are always supported by manual approaches applied by our expert physiotherapists and one-on-one supervised clinical exercise programs. This integrated (holistic) approach maximizes our success rate.

Patient privacy and hygiene are our most important red lines during our treatments. Each treatment protocol applied is planned entirely tailor-made (personalized) according to the patient's age, occupational conditions, and the severity of the disease (acute/chronic) after the first evaluation session, and the healing process is monitored transparently session by session.

Who Is This Service For?

  • Those with lumbar herniation, cervical herniation, and spinal osteoarthritis problems
  • Those experiencing shoulder impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder, or rotator cuff tear
  • Desk workers suffering from constant neck and back pain
  • Those experiencing knee osteoarthritis, meniscus degeneration, or patellofemoral pain
  • Those feeling numbness and tingling due to nerve compression such as carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Individuals with morning stiffness, general fatigue, and widespread muscle pain (fibromyalgia)
  • Patients recommended for surgery but seeking non-surgical (conservative) treatment
  • Those who want to heal completely naturally by reducing the use of painkillers

How Is It Applied?

01

Clinical Assessment

The history of your illness (anamnesis) is listened to, and your imaging results (MRI, X-ray), if any, are examined. Posture analysis, muscle strength, and joint range of motion tests are performed.

02

Electrotherapy and Physical Agents

Modern and evidence-based physical therapy devices such as TENS, ultrasound, hot/cold applications, laser, or magnetic field therapy (PMF) are used to reduce acute pain and inflammation.

03

Manual Interventions

Following the device treatment, manual massage, fascial release, or mobilization techniques are applied by an expert physiotherapist to the patient whose tissues are warmed up and relaxed.

04

Clinical Exercise Prescription

To prevent the recurrence of pain and for permanent healing, therapeutic exercises specific to the patient that strengthen weakened muscles and stretch shortened muscles are performed under one-on-one supervision.

05

Home Program and Follow-up

Ergonomic rules to be considered in daily life after treatment are taught, and a personalized video/pictured home exercise program is given to be applied on non-session days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is physical therapy a painful process?
No, physical therapy is fundamentally a comfortable process aimed at soothing the patient's pain. Electrotherapy agents give a sweet massage and warming sensation to the skin. Only during joint opening (mobilization) or special muscle stretching exercises, a tolerable, therapeutic tension feeling may occur, but this situation is definitely not painful.
In how many sessions is improvement seen?
Depending on the patient's clinical picture (whether acute or chronic), a serious alleviation in pain usually begins in the first 3-5 sessions. For complete permanent healing and muscle readaptation, a cure of an average of 10 to 15 sessions is recommended at world standards.
Can I receive treatment without waiting in line and entering a crowd?
Yes. The biggest difference of Wellness Studio is that it offers VIP clinical service. Your treatment does not take place in curtained crowded halls like in state or private hospitals; it takes place in your individual, quiet, sterile, and comfortable rooms completely reserved for you, accompanied one-on-one by an expert physiotherapist.
Will I just be hooked up to electrotherapy devices and wait?
Absolutely not. Passive electrotherapy devices are only the preparation phase. In our clinic, the actual treatment takes place with manual techniques (mobilization, clinical massage) applied by your physiotherapist's hands and the subsequent one-on-one supervised medical exercise program (active therapy).
Is physical therapy applied to hernias at the surgical level?
If the patient does not have "Red Flag" findings such as sudden urinary/fecal incontinence or very severe progressive loss of strength in the leg (drop foot, etc.), 90% of hernias can be successfully healed with non-surgical (conservative) physical therapy methods. Our experts will examine your MRI results and give you the most transparent information.
