Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation

Sports Rehabilitation

Leave injuries behind and return to the fields stronger and more agile than before.

Sports Rehabilitation is a specialized branch of physiotherapy that aims to treat orthopedic injuries experienced by individuals with an active sports life during training or competition, enabling them to return to sports as quickly and safely as possible. Its biggest difference from classic physical therapy is that the goal is not only to stop the pain or return to daily life but to readapt the athlete to the highly explosive power, sudden changes of direction, and high-tempo effort they are exposed to.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, meniscus tears, shoulder dislocations, Achilles tendon problems, or muscle strains... Every branch and every injury has its own unique biomechanics. Wellness Studio experts design a soccer player's return-to-field program and a tennis player's return-to-court program completely tailored to the needs and movement patterns of that branch. Not only the damaged tissue but the entire kinetic chain supporting that tissue is strengthened.

The process, which starts with device-assisted electrotherapy and manual therapy (Graston, deep tissue massage, mobilization) in the early period, continues with proprioception (balance), plyometric exercises, agility training, and sports-specific simulations in the later phases. This entire process is completed when the athlete successfully passes internationally accepted objective tests for "Return to Play".

Who Is This Service For?

  • Those experiencing Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament, and collateral ligament injuries
  • Those complaining of pain, catching, and locking due to meniscus tears
  • Those experiencing groin pain (Osteitis Pubis) and hamstring strain/tear
  • Those developing ligament damage after ankle sprain (inversion/eversion)
  • Those undergoing surgery/treatment for Achilles tendinitis or Achilles tendon rupture
  • Those trying to return to sports after a shoulder dislocation or rotator cuff (shoulder muscle) tear
  • Those with tendinitis due to overuse, such as tennis elbow or golfer's elbow
  • Professional/amateur athletes preparing for "Return to Play" tests after injury

How Is It Applied?

01

Biomechanics and Sports-Specific Analysis

The athlete's injury mechanism is examined. Weak links are identified by applying muscle strength, flexibility, and balance tests specific to their branch (football, basketball, tennis, etc.).

02

Acute Phase Intervention (R.I.C.E & Electrotherapy)

Ice, compression, and modern electrotherapy devices (TENS, Ultrasound) are used to control edema, bleeding, and severe pain that occur immediately after the injury.

03

Tissue Healing and Manual Therapy

Cross-friction massages, Graston technique, and fascial releases are applied to accelerate the healing process of the torn ligament or muscle and ensure it fuses at the right angle.

04

Strengthening and Proprioception Training

The sense of perceiving the joint's position in space (proprioception) is improved. Muscle mass is rebuilt with closed and open kinetic chain exercises.

05

Field/Court Simulation and Return to Sports

The athlete's needs such as explosive power, agility, and jumping on the field are simulated in a clinical setting. Approval to return to sports is given when "Return to Play" tests are passed.

Benefits of Rehabilitation

Minimizing the risk of recurrence of the injury in the same area (re-injury) thanks to tissues healing with correct alignment
Rapid elimination of muscle wasting (atrophy) and joint restrictions that occur during periods of immobility
Increasing overall athletic performance by correcting not only the injured area but the entire biomechanical chain
Overcoming the "fear of re-injury" (kinesiophobia) experienced by the athlete due to the injury
Reducing the time to return to sports to the most optimal and safe level
Providing additional support and confidence during training with special kinesio taping techniques

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon after an injury should I start physiotherapy?
Although it varies depending on the type of injury, starting interventions to manage the acute edema and inflammation phase within the first 24-48 hours significantly shortens the healing process. If you have had a surgical operation (e.g., ligament repair), the rehabilitation process usually starts with passive movements from the first week with your doctor's permission.
Will I be able to play sports like before?
Yes. The main goal of modern sports rehabilitation is to return you to your pre-injury level (and even to a higher level by closing your biomechanical gaps). With the right treatment protocol, patience, and physiotherapist-athlete cooperation, you can return to the fields stronger than before.
Do you only serve professional athletes?
No. We apply professional standard treatment to everyone who has an "active life" and suffers an injury during sports, from amateur sports fans playing weekend matches to those who do regular fitness.
Do you use Graston and taping?
Yes. Graston (IASTM) tools that accelerate tissue healing, cupping therapy, manual fascial release techniques, and functional Kinesiological / Rigid taping applications are standard parts of our treatment in sports rehabilitation.
